When you start to see the signs of aging on your face, you don’t have to keep living with them. When it comes to dermal fillers, you have a choice, yet the choice can be overwhelming since there is more than one option to choose from. At River Region Dermatology and Laser in Montgomery, AL, we offer three different types of filler, each of which treats the signs of aging in different areas of the face and we can help determine which is best for you.
Juvederm, Restylane, or Belotero: Which Dermal Fillers Are Right for You?
Dermal fillers provide those who are tired of their fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss with the ability to temporarily make those signs of aging disappear. These injectables add volume to areas that have lost it due to age and gravity and can fill in anything from line fines to deep-set lines.
At our office, we offer the three most popular Belotero dermal fillers: Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero. These fillers share the fact that they all are hyaluronic-acid based, yet they target different areas.
Choosing Between These Three Fillers
The filler that is best for you depends entirely on what area of your face you’re trying to treat. Each of these three fillers works to target one or more different areas of the face.
If you know that you want to try dermal fillers as a way to temporarily remove your fine lines and wrinkles and add volume and definition to your face but are not sure which filler to use, we will review the fillers with you and help develop a treatment plan that best suits your skincare needs and goals.
If you have small, etched lines, Belotero may be the best choice for you. If you need volume added to your lips or cheeks, Restylane may be the best solution to your aging issues. If you have a multitude of areas you want to treat, you may be a candidate for Juvederm.
Juvederm
Juvederm is one of the most popular dermal fillers available on the beauty market. It has been around as an FDA-approved filler since 2006 and is popular due to the smooth consistency it creates when injected into the skin.
What makes this filler unique from others is that one of its ingredients is a mild anesthetic known as lidocaine, which works to minimize any resulting sensations that may occur during the injection process.
What Areas Does It Treat?
Of these three fillers, Juvederm can treat the widest range of problematic skin conditions that result from aging including the eye area, forehead, and cheeks.
It fills lines in the areas around the eyes, known as crow’s feet, as well as lines in the forehead. It also adds volume where volume has been lost in the cheeks and fills in lines around the mouth in the marionette lines and the nasolabial folds.
How Long Do Results Last?
Those injected with this dermal filler will experience results anywhere from six to twelve months, depending on how quickly the body metabolizes it. Everyone’s body metabolizes Belotero dermal fillers differently, which is what causes the duration of results to differ from one person to the next.
Restylane
Like Juvederm, Restylane is another hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. Restylane is world-renown for its ability to add volume to the lips as well as the cheeks and is sold and used in more than 65 countries.
What Areas Does It Treat?
Restylane targets concerns in the lips and cheeks. When injected into the lips, it can transform the thinnest of lips into ones that have a natural-looking amount of fullness.
When injected into the cheeks, it can add volume and definition to sunken, flat, or drooping cheeks. It can also help address moderate to severe lines and wrinkles that appear on the face, including the nasolabial folds.
How Long Do Results Last?
After an injection of Restylane into your lip or cheek area, you will find that your results last anywhere from four to six months. Just like Juvederm, the speed at which your body metabolizes the ingredients in the filler will ultimately determine how long your results last.
Belotero
Belotero, another hyaluronic acid-based filler, is made with a unique proprietary process known as CPM, Cohesive Polydensified Matrix process. This process results in Belotero becoming one with the skin’s tissue. Belotero leads to the natural-looking results when it comes to volume and smoothness due to its thinner consistency when compared to other similar fillers.
What Areas Does It Treat?
Belotero has a thinner consistency, so this filler allows for it to treat the smaller lines and wrinkles that develop in the face effectively.
How Long Do Results Last?
Results from this filler last typically last six months but can last longer. In the same way that the body determines how long Juvederm and Restylane’s results last, so too is the length of Belotero’s ultimate results dependent upon how quickly the body metabolizes the filler’s ingredients.
Taking the Next Step
These three fillers are so popular because they all effectively treat the signs of aging. Restylane, Juvederm, and Belotero all have one thing in common: they work.
